Hadaka Matsuri

A poster designed by CCWhyte that looked to incorporate the brotherhood and open-hearted nature of the Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Man Festival) in Japan.

The Japanese Kanji “わっしょい” is chanted “WASSHOI” in unison as they walk together towards the temple. It roughly translates somewhere in between ‘heave – ho’ and ‘to stay with harmony’

All profits from the sales of these prints will be donated to the Maggie’s Centres cancer support charity.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals the Maggie charity provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
